The New America's Team?

The NFL fans' poll shows a sudden shift

Charlotte, NC - A recent poll has shown a massive swing in the favorites of the NFL fan-base.

A poll taken on November 8 shows a huge swing in who NFL fans across the country say is their favorite team.

A November 1 poll shows that the "America's Team" designation belonged to the Dallas Cowboys who polled at an impressive 42% of the field of NFL teams.

However, the same poll taken one week later shows that NFL fans have had a huge change of heart.

The more recent 11/8 poll shows the surging Carolina Panthers as America's favorite team now - and by a large margin to boot.

The 6-2 Panthers are tied for first in the NFC South and have just come off of a blowout 34-14 win vs. conference rival Tampa Bay.

"I think fans across America are becoming believers in the team," said Carolina quarterback Jake Delhomme.

"With back-to-back huge wins, I think fans and sportswriters really do believe we have a chance to win it all this year."

From sports pundits, Sunday morning pre-game shows, barbecues, living rooms and bathroom stalls across the country, the Panthers are getting overdue recognition and licking their competition.
