Tap, Tap, Tap.... Is this thing on?

So, eh.... How's it going?

I know we haven't been posting a lot. Sorry about that. Life, and what not, seems to be getting in the way. Who would have thunk it. Anyhoo, let me give a brief update and then scatter shoot a few things.

First, the new job is pretty kick ass. Just like my last job, I can't say for whom I am employed due to corporate images and PR departments and so on. However, I can say that I went from a smaller million dollar oil and gas company to a multi-billion dollar energy company. At said company, I'm the, or rather "the", map guy. If it's to be mapped, it is my job. Pipelines, wind, solar, coal plants, well location, water rights, right of way's, Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders house's or whatever.

The plus side is that any soft or hardware that I ask for or that I need, I get. I think my personal computer software bill is around 25 to 30K. No complaints, just an email approving the purchase. That freaking rules. Also, we have lunch catered every day. Very nice. I like food and I like free, so free food is the greatest. Add to that, they have a gym and a trainer on staff. So, I now get paid to work out and I do. Cardio 5 times a week with weights 3 times a week. I've lost about 15 lbs and my cardio is getting better daily.

So as far as work goes, I'm happy as a clam. A free food, working out, computer laden clam. It also engenders you to be a hard working clam and right now I'm busy from pretty much 6am to 6pm. It's good for the paycheck and I enjoy it but it sucks for you, the reader. (Of course, some could argue that "less Rob" is "less suck.")

So that is my world in the current state, except that we got the wife a new car. It's a Dodge Journey. It's pretty cool, it drives ok but, most importantly, it has satellite radio. All hail Hair Nation. Hair band metal at it's finest. Sweet.

Now for some scatter shooting:

~ MSNBC was doing a report from the North pole on global warming the other day. They were bitching about the thinning ice and talking about how they don't see any penguins up there at all, anymore. It could be because all 17 species of arctic penguins live on the south pole, dumbass.

~ The Dallas Stars beat the Sharks and play the Redwings today. My prediction: Stars in 6. Why? Because no matter how good the Wings are, that's Chris Osgood between the pipes.

~ The price of oil? $150 by July.

~ God bless that Harpy, Hillary. Keep on going! Don't let those men convince you to drop out! (I love train wrecks.)

~ If you lived in Florida in 2000, voted for Kerry and then voted for Hillary in the primaries, you have to admit it: Your vote just really doesn't matter does it? Why not just stay home?

~ I turn 35 this year. Can I start my mid-life crisis yet?

~ Finally, I leave you with a question? If everyone on the earth disappeared except you and Richard Little, Rosie O'Donnell and Brittney Spears would you really want to repopulate the earth with that gene pool?
